MARK ROBBERDS

WEEKEND WORKSHOP WITH MARK ROBBERDS AT OM HOUSE

Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th Jan 2026

10.00AM to 1.00PM

$250 per person

This weekend: Handstands as a practice. Two 3-hour workshops exploring handstands, transitions, and backbends through movement intelligence, with an emphasis on understanding how movement works.

We’ll use coordination drills, locomotion, and jump back / jump through patterns to build strength, awareness, and confidence. From there we’ll work systematically with handstands, arm balances, and backbending — including intelligent progressions toward Scorpion.

Everything is scaled and taught progressively. We finish each session with stillness to integrate the work. Intermediate focus.

Beginners welcome.

WORKSHOP 1

Handstands, Jump Back / Jump-Through & Arm Balances

This workshop looks at handstands and transitions as learnable movement skills.

We start with coordination games and playful jump back / jump through patterns to build strength, timing, and confidence. From there we move into floor-based locomotion to expand movement beyond the mat and improve body literacy.

The second half focuses on handstand fundamentals — bodyline awareness, weight transfer, partner spotting, and press progressions — before finishing with arm balances like Bakasana and Pincha, explored through intelligent entries and exits.

We close with stillness to integrate the work.

WORKSHOP 2

Handstands with Backbend Focus

This workshop explores backbending as a full-body, intelligent process.

We begin by awakening spinal movement through coordination drills and ground-based patterns, gradually layering backbending into locomotion and preparation work.

From there we return to handstand essentials — bodyline drills, shoulder organisation, and clear progressions — before working toward Scorpion handstand using my Backbend Blueprint, including wall work and partner assistance.

We finish with stillness to settle the nervous system and absorb the practice.
